AIWritingPal for Mac and Windows

A window of one’s own.

The same quiet editor, as an app on your computer. It opens at once, works without a connection, and your drafts are the same ones you have on the web.

Version 0.2.1 · 7 MB · macOS 15 or later · Apple silicon and Intel

Version 0.3.0 · 47 MB · Windows 10 and 11 Beta

The first time, Windows may ask before it runs the installer: choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

This is a beta, so a few things may not work yet. Tell us what you run into.

The desktop app is for Mac and Windows. Open this page on your computer to download it.

The AIWritingPal Mac app: the drafts list on the left, a draft open on the paper.

Opens at once

No loading screen. The draft you left is back on the page the moment you open the app.

Works offline

Write on a train, on a plane, in the mountains. Everything is saved on your Mac and syncs when you are back online.

Synced as you type

Open the same draft on the web and in the app and each sees the other’s words as they are typed. Nothing is ever overwritten.

Blue Pencil included

Edit, ask and review with Blue Pencil, on the same account and plan as on the web. It needs a connection; writing doesn’t.

Found by Spotlight

Press ⌘ Space, type a word from a title or a draft, and open it. The index stays on this Mac.

Hands stay on the keyboard

⌘N for a new draft, ⌘K to find one, ⌘. to focus. Every command is in the menu bar too.

Questions

Is the desktop app free?

Yes. It uses your AIWritingPal account and plan, including the free plan. You can write without an account at all; signing in adds sync and Blue Pencil.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Or a PC with Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 2004 or later.

Is there a Windows version?

Yes, for Windows 10 and 11. It has the same editor, the same account and the same drafts as the Mac app and the web.

Where are my drafts kept?

On your computer. Once you sign in, also on your account, so they are on the web and on your other computers too.

How does it update?

The app checks for updates on its own. On a Mac it asks before installing one; on Windows a new version is downloaded quietly and takes over the next time you open the app.
