Focus mode
A page with nothing on it but your words.
AIWritingPal is a full-screen editor first. Press ⌘. (Ctrl+. on Windows) and the menus, the sidebar and the word count step aside until you need them. Esc brings everything back.
Typewriter scrolling
The line you are writing stays in the middle of the screen, so your eyes stay in one place instead of chasing the cursor down the page.
Dim other paragraphs
Everything except the paragraph you are in fades back. It is the quickest way to finish a thought before you start fixing the last one.
A page that suits you
Light, paper or dark; serif, sans or mono; three text sizes and three line widths. The editor remembers your choices.
Markdown, if you like it
Type # for a heading, - for a list or > for a quote, or press / for a menu. Shortcuts turn into formatting as you type, and ⌘/ lists every one.
Saved as you type
There is no save button. Drafts are saved as you write and open on any device you sign in on; ⌘K jumps to any of them.
How to use it
- Open a draft, or start one with Start writing.
- Press ⌘. (Ctrl+. on Windows) to enter focus mode.
- If you like, turn on typewriter scrolling or dim other paragraphs in the display settings.
- Press Esc to leave.
Questions
Is focus mode free?
Yes. The editor, focus mode, themes and every export are free on every plan. Plans only differ in how much Blue Pencil you get.
Do I need to install anything?
No. AIWritingPal runs in your browser and saves as you type.
Where do my drafts go?
Into your drafts library, saved to your account. You can export one or all of them at any time — see Export.
